Good people, doing good things.

In the Autumn of 2023 I was given the opportunity by Eco-Friendly Garforth (a local group of volunteers)  to use a patch of wasteland to create a dye/ink garden in my community.  The space was previously wasteland that was full of rubbish, burnt mattresses and glass. I soon became a weekly volunteer and helped to make the space usable. I have since received funding to provide monthly nature journaling workshops at the garden.  Sharing my 10 years of nature journaling insights, knowledge, inspiration and ideas.

This is a lovely film made by Kelly a local photographer Tiny Branch Photography showcasing all the work, fun, and connection that has been made by local people in my community.  There are ' good people' out there doing 'good things' you just have to seek them out.

Being involved with this project and people has enriched my life in many ways. Connecting with like minded, positive people trying to make small changes. People of all ages and from different backgrounds,  this is what we are lacking in most of our communities. Positivity and hope through connection.

If you're local you can find us there every Wednesday.  10-12, in the Community Garden at the bottom of the Lord Gascoigne car park. We are very welcoming, and there is always coffee and cake.

If you'd like to find out more about what we get up to in the garden follow the links below.
