Thank you For sharing Wangari's story! And for sharing your habit of drawing and making notes of books you read, to make them more memorable. That is a terrific habit for any of us to do! I am currently reading 'The Light Eaters' by Zoe Schlanger about how scientists are learning of how plants communicate with each other, and other creatures in nature. It covers many interesting interviews and I need to be making notes, too!!! Love your drawings of Wangari!!! :-)

I can't recommend it enough. I need to make myself read slower, which is tricky for me. If I like a book I can't put it down. But taking time to make notes, drawings, and keep track of threads of thoughts etc. does help the content stay with you. I have had 'The Light Eaters ' on my to read list for a while, I must get to reading it. We saw a beautiful film a few weeks ago called 'Silent Friend' it centred around a Gingko tree, across several time lines. Part of the story was around the thoughts that the tree could perceive and interact with the humans in the story. I recommend it, absolutely beautiful. I wonder if the director read 'The Light Eaters'?

Never mind the “skill” level, these are all straight from the heart and therefore delightful. I see the joy in her face and only wish for a hummingbird to make the story complete. She was an amazing woman. Thanks for sharing her story so deeply.

Thank you Lynda. Now that 'drawing' has become my source of income, there is a vulnerability in sharing work that isn't as good as I would like. But I must practise what I preach 😊. You are right a hummingbird is definitely needed. Thank you for commenting and sharing in the love of this amazing woman.
